Akumadan Anidaso Easter Gala Kicks Off With Renewed Focus On Youth Empowerment

The 2025 edition of the Akumadan Anidaso Easter Gala officially launched on Friday, April 18, with a spirited opening ceremony at the Akumadan Town Park, setting the stage for two weeks of thrilling football and vibrant community engagement.

The annual tournament, which has become a staple event in the Offinso North District during the Easter season, is once again being championed by Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, Member of Parliament for the constituency.

Dr. Asamoah, a strong advocate for youth development, has taken the initiative to not only sponsor the event but also reposition it as a catalyst for social transformation within the community.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Asamoah underscored the broader purpose behind the Gala.

“This is more than just a football competition,” he said. “It is a platform for promoting discipline, unity, and hope among our youth. Through sports, we can inspire dreams and foster a spirit of perseverance and teamwork that benefits the entire community.”

The Akumadan Anidaso Easter Gala will run from April 22 to May 5, 2025, featuring teams from Akumadan and neighbouring communities.

The matches will all be hosted at the Akumadan Town Park, which has become a central hub of youth activity and community pride during the tournament season.

The Gala, now a fixture on the community’s calendar, was launched several years ago by Dr. Asamoah as part of his broader agenda to create opportunities for young people in his constituency.

Over time, it has evolved from a simple football event into a community-wide movement promoting social inclusion, talent development, and peaceful coexistence.

Organizers expect this year’s edition to draw even larger crowd and increased participation, fueled by a renewed commitment to using sports as a tool for empowerment and development.
