Asamoah Gyan, Clementine Toure To Headline CAF African Schools Championship Draw

As Ghana prepares to host the third edition of the CAF African Schools Football Championship Continental Finals, CAF has announced that two celebrated African football icons — Asamoah Gyan of Ghana and Clementine Toure of Côte d’Ivoire — will play key roles in the tournament’s Official Draw.

The draw ceremony is scheduled to take place in Accra on Monday, April 21, 2025, just days before the competition officially kicks off from April 23 to April 26.

Asamoah Gyan and Toure, both renowned for their contributions to African football, will assist with determining the matchups for the continental showdown involving Under-15 boys and girls teams.

Gyan And Toure:

Asamoah Gyan, Ghana’s all-time top scorer and a veteran of multiple World Cups and AFCON tournaments, remains a revered figure in African football.

His involvement brings not only star power but also inspiration to young talents aiming to rise through the ranks.

Clementine Toure, on the other hand, has blazed a trail in women’s football as head coach of Côte d’Ivoire’s national women’s team.

Her reputation as a champion for women’s empowerment through sports makes her presence at the draw highly symbolic and influential.

They will be joined at the event by other African legends such as Abedi Pele and Adjoa Bayor from Ghana, Robert Kidiaba of DR Congo, and Amanda Dlamini of South Africa — all of whom will support participating teams during the competition.
