A devastating road accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 22, on the Bimbilla-Yendi road, leaving several passengers injured.
The incident happened at Bincheratanga in the Nanumba North Municipality of the Northern Region, when a Kia truck attempted to overtake two motorcyclists, lost control, and overturned onto its side.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the vehicle speeding before the crash.
“This morning, we saw the truck veering off the road, and this is where we are now,” an eyewitness told Channel One TV.
The eyewitness added that some philanthropists had transported a few victims to Yendi Hospital while awaiting an ambulance from the district.
The driver of the truck, Binyali Isaac, revealed that the vehicle was carrying 32 passengers, and nearly all sustained serious injuries.
Many of the injured were transported to Yendi Hospital for medical attention.
Isaac explained that the accident occurred when a motorcyclist suddenly crossed his vehicle, leading to the loss of control.
The assemblyman for the area, Kabulja Desmond, expressed concern over the accident, stating that it was an unusual occurrence.
