Mahama Bids Farewell To KAMA Boss In Koforidua

President John Dramani Mahama joined mourners and sympathizers to pay his final respects to the late Elder Nana Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo, affectionately called KAMA, at Suhyen, near Koforidua, in the Eastern Region on Saturday, 29th March, 2025.

The President was accompanied by several high-ranking officials, including the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, and the Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey.

Dr. Addo was an entrepreneur, pharmacist, philanthropist, and traditional leader who left an indelible mark on Ghana’s economic and social landscape.

As the founder of the KAMA Group of Companies, he revolutionized Ghana’s pharmaceutical industry, ensuring access to quality healthcare products.
Beyond business, he served as the Nkabomhene (Unity Chief) of the New Juaben Traditional Area, a mentor, and a strong advocate for education and youth empowerment.

In his tribute, President Mahama described Dr. Addo as a distinguished son of Ghana whose entrepreneurial excellence and service to the nation were unparalleled.

The President highlighted Dr. Addo’s visionary leadership at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), where he championed policies that strengthened local businesses and attracted foreign investment.

President Mahama also commended Dr. Addo’s dedication to mentoring young entrepreneurs, emphasizing that his impact would be felt by generations.

The final farewell was a testament to Dr. Addo’s enduring legacy, as dignitaries and mourners gathered to celebrate a life of purpose, service, and lasting contributions to Ghana’s development.
