Mahama Boys Raid Bawumia ADC House

A group of individuals allegedly posing as National Security operatives led by Richard Jakpa have come under fire again following a forceful and unprovoked raid on the private residence of the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The alarming incident, which took place on Saturday, is now stirring public outcry and raising serious questions about the politicization of Ghana’s security apparatus under the current administration.

The National Security Coordinator DCOP Razak Osman who might have authorized the raid was a former ADC to John Mahama when he was a Vice President and never suffered such an assault on his person after change of government.

The operatives, widely believed to be aligned with elements loyal to former President John Dramani Mahama, reportedly stormed the home of the police officer—who served as Bawumia’s ADC during his tenure as Vice President—without presenting a warrant or any official cause for the operation.

“Yesterday, individuals who purport to be National Security Operatives, without cause, ransacked the home of the ADC of the former Vice President,” a source familiar with the incident disclosed.

“They destroyed the gate to his house to forcibly gain entry. Thereafter, they destroyed the doors to the main bedrooms and scattered everything in the bedrooms. Even the contents of a mini mosque were not spared.”

According to eyewitness accounts, the operation bore the hallmarks of an intimidation tactic.

The security operatives not only damaged property, but also removed the hard drive of the CCTV surveillance system in what many see as a calculated move to erase all evidence of their actions.

“This lawlessness in the name of National Security must cease,” the source insisted.

“Citizens have rights that must be respected. The man in question is just a policeman whose only crime is the fact that he was dutifully assigned to the former Veep.”

The unnamed police officer has reportedly served with distinction and is not known to be under any formal investigation.

His association with Dr. Bawumia, a prominent figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has led some political observers to suggest that the raid was politically motivated.

“The Interior Minister and the National Security Coordinator, who himself was once an ADC to a Vice President and later President, must rein in these folks who are misbehaving in the name of the law and the National Security Secretariat,” the source warned.

Critics argue that such aggressive acts, if left unchecked, threaten the very fabric of Ghana’s democracy.

The country has long been seen as a beacon of political stability in West Africa, but recent events suggest that partisan politics may be eroding that legacy.

“Ghana is a country ruled by law, not men,” the statement concluded. “These sad episodes place an indelible blot on the country as a thriving democracy.”
