Mahama Speaks To Ghana In Maiden SONA Today

President John Dramani Mahama is set to deliver his first State of the Nation Address today, Thursday, February 27, 2025 to start his second term in office.

This highly anticipated speech is expected to highlight his administration’s key policies, economic strategies, and governance priorities. Ghanaians are eagerly awaiting his vision on addressing critical national issues, including economic stability, job creation, infrastructure development, and national unity.

John Mahama’s address comes at a time when Ghana is facing significant economic and social challenges.

The country is struggling with rising inflation, unemployment, and wage disparities. Various stakeholders, including the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and business leaders, have already expressed their expectations, urging the government to introduce concrete measures to tackle these pressing concerns.

The President’s speech will also serve as an opportunity to clarify the government’s “resetting agenda” and outline plans to revitalize key sectors of the economy.

John Mahama’s administration has promised to create decent and well-paying jobs, improve the business and investment environment, and prioritize public health.
However he has started with laying off of recently recruited public sector workers.
He will also take a diss at his predecessor over the management of the economy.
In his inaugural speech, John Mahama emphasized the importance of accountability and innovation in his governance.

He stated that his administration will prioritize inclusivity, accountability, and innovation, forging pathways that will lead to the upliftment of all Ghanaians.
