The changes come amidst controversy surrounding the removal of George Akuffo Dampare as IGP. Dampare’s removal was met with mixed reactions, with some police officers jubilating over his departure.
However, his removal has also been challenged in court. Imani Ghana and security expert Professor Kwesi Aning filed a suit to prevent his removal.
Christian Tetteh Yohuno, a seasoned police officer with 40 years of experience, is expected to bring his wealth of knowledge and leadership skills to the forefront of Ghana’s law enforcement efforts.
His appointment has been hailed as a positive move, with many expecting him to lead the modernization and transformation of the Ghana Police Service.
However, the Police Service has urged the public to cooperate with the new leadership, ensuring a smooth transition.
