Otumfuo Rejects Pentecost Church Cash

In a remarkable display of humility and kindness, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has rejected a monetary gift from the Church of Pentecost (McKeown Temple).

The gesture, which has earned widespread praise on social media, provides a deeper insight into the generous heart of the overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Over the weekend, the leadership of the McKeown Temple of the Church of Pentecost paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene to express their gratitude to Otumfuo for renewing the lease of the church’s property in Asokwa at no cost.

In a gesture of appreciation, the church leadership presented an envelope containing an undisclosed amount of money to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

However, in a surprising move, Otumfuo Osei Tutu declined the token and instructed the church to use the money to pay an offertory on his behalf instead.

“You should use it as an offertory for me,” Otumfuo is heard saying in a video recorded at the event, which took place at the Manhyia Palace on Friday, February 28, 2025.

The Asantehene’s gesture has been hailed as a remarkable display of humility and kindness.
Many have attributed Otumfuo’s actions to his magnanimity, and the incident has sparked widespread praise on social media.

The Church of Pentecost (McKeown Temple) had sought to show their appreciation to Otumfuo for his kindness in renewing their lease at no cost.

This act of kindness by Otumfuo is not an isolated incident.

The Asantehene has been known for his generosity and kindness, and this latest gesture only serves to reinforce his reputation as a compassionate leader.
