The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been struck by a significant loss following the reported death of Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, President of the NDC Professionals Forum.
His passing was confirmed on Sunday, April 6, 2025, after a short illness.
Ambassador Yalley was a prominent figure within Ghana’s political and diplomatic spheres, known for his intellect, service, and unwavering commitment to public duty.
His death leaves a vacuum not only in the NDC but across the nation, where his contributions to governance and civil discourse were widely acknowledged.
A trained lawyer and dedicated public servant, Yalley previously served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), where he played a pivotal role in overseeing pension reforms and strengthening regulatory frameworks within the country’s pension sector.
In 2014, his diplomatic career was elevated when he was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s High Commissioner to India. During his tenure, Ambassador Yalley worked diligently to deepen bilateral ties between Ghana and India, focusing on economic cooperation, educational exchange, and trade relations.
Beyond his official titles, Sam Pee Yalley was widely respected for his articulate voice on national matters.
He was a familiar face on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, where he served as a regular panellist, engaging in topical political debates and offering insights into governance and development.
He was particularly known for his passion in advocating for female empowerment and leadership within the political and professional landscape of Ghana.
