In a significant breakthrough, the Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery and extortion incident that occurred at Wangarakrom, near Tarkwa in the Western Region.
The arrests were made on 31st March 2025, marking a major success in the police’s efforts to combat crime in the region.
According to sources, the suspects, identified as Kwame Mumuni and Awal Benjamin, were apprehended by the police following a thorough investigation into the incident.
The police were able to retrieve several exhibits from the suspects, including a red unregistered Suzuki motorbike, military camouflage tops, three pairs of boots, a torchlight, a black face mask, and an amount of GHC 645.00 cash.
The incident that led to the arrests is believed to have occurred in the Western Region, where the suspects allegedly engaged in robbery and extortion activities.
The police have been investigating the incident, and the arrests mark a significant milestone in their efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The police are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to come forward and assist in the investigation.
The suspects, Kwame Mumuni and Awal Benjamin, are currently in custody and will be put before the court to face justice.
