A devastating explosion occurred on Wednesday night at Odumase, near Konongo in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality of the Ashanti Region, leaving three people dead and several others injured.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many still reeling from the aftermath.
According to reports, one person was initially confirmed dead following the explosion, but two additional victims succumbed to their injuries, bringing the total death toll to three.
Several others, including firefighters, sustained varying degrees of injuries while responding to the incident.
Fortunately, authorities confirm that the injured fire officers and other affected civilians have received treatment and been discharged from the hospital.
However, about five victims remain on admission, with two in critical condition being considered for referral to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the explosion is still unknown, but investigations are likely to be launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The community is mourning, and support is offered to those affected by the tragedy.
