In a significant move to enhance legislative oversight and governance, Parliament has reconstituted its committees, leading to several key leadership appointments.
Isaac Adongo, Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, has been appointed the Chairman of the Finance Committee, a position that will enable him to play a crucial role in scrutinizing government financial expenditures and ensuring accountability in the use of public funds.
Isaac Adongo’s appointment is seen as a reward for missing out on the ministerial list.
Meanwhile, former Minister for Finance, Mohammed Amin Adam has taken over as the Ranking Member of the Finance Committee.
The Finance Committee, which is responsible for examining financial matters, including loans, monetary and fiscal policies, and general financial transactions, has a total of 19 members.
