Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was the center of attention at the 60th remembrance service for the late J.B. Danquah, held at Kyebi in the Eastern Region.
The event, which took place on Sunday, March 9, 2025, was attended by prominent members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and Samuel Abu Jinapor, former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.
Nana Akufo-Addo, accompanied by his wife, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, stole the show with his elegant dance moves, as he took to the floor to dance with the Okyenhemaa, Nana Dokua.
The former President’s dance moves were met with thunderous applause and cheers from the audience, who were clearly delighted by his energetic and graceful performance.
The event was organized by the family of the late J.B. Danquah, in collaboration with the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council.
The celebration was held at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Bronikrom/Kyebi, and was attended by a large gathering of dignitaries, and traditional leaders.
Akufo-Addo’s attendance at the event was seen as a testament to his respect for the late J.B. Danquah, who was a renowned Ghanaian statesman and a founding member of the UGCC.
The event was also attended by Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Okyenhene, who played host to the gathering.
Overall, the 60th remembrance service for the late J.B. Danquah was a memorable event that brought together a diverse group of people to pay tribute to a Ghanaian icon.
