By Daniel Bampoe

The Member of Parliament for Ayensuano Constituency, Ida Adjoa Asiedu, has donated 1,800 mathematical sets to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates across the constituency, in a gesture aimed at supporting students as they prepare for this year’s national exams.

The donation forms part of Ida Asiedu’s broader commitment to improving education and empowering the youth in her constituency.

The math sets were distributed to final-year junior high school students to ensure that they are fully equipped with essential tools needed to write their exams with confidence and dignity.

Commitment To Education

Since her election to Parliament, Ida Adjoa Asiedu has made education a cornerstone of her development agenda in Ayensuano.
From providing scholarships and learning materials to supporting teachers and improving infrastructure, the MP has consistently prioritized the academic growth of children in the constituency.

Her latest gesture continues this tradition. By providing each candidate with a math set, she aims to eliminate avoidable distractions and ensure that no student is left unprepared due to a lack of basic exam materials.

Visits to Exam Centers

As part of the initiative, Ida Adjoa Asiedu visited two major BECE centers — Amanase and Asuboi — where she interacted with candidates and offered words of encouragement.

In her address, she reminded the students that success in the BECE goes beyond knowledge alone.

“The exam is not just about testing what you know,” she said. “It’s about exhibiting the hard work and determination you have put in over the years. Be focused, stay determined, and give it your best.”

She encouraged the students to believe in themselves and remain confident in their abilities.

“Success is within your reach. Trust in God, and I pray He grants you a deep memory to recall all that you’ve been taught from Grade One till now.”

Ensuring Exam Preparedness

The Ayensuano MP also spoke practically about the importance of being well-prepared before entering the exam hall.

“I don’t want any of you going around asking for a pencil or eraser,” she said. “That’s why I’ve ensured that each of you receives a complete math set, so you can concentrate and perform without distractions.”

She urged the students to stay focused and avoid any form of exam malpractice or over-reliance on others, reminding them that the future lies in their own hands.

Scholarship for Top Best Students

In a special announcement that was met with applause, Ida Adjoa Asiedu revealed that the best-performing candidates in the constituency will receive a full scholarship sponsored personally by her.

“This is to motivate our girls to aim high and break barriers,” she said. “The scholarship will support the top female student’s secondary education. So study hard — this opportunity is yours to win.”

The visit was warmly received by students, teachers, and headmasters who commended the MP for her continued investment in education.
