The Ghana Police Service has apprehended a man identified as Osei Kwame, popularly known as “Nsafufoo,” for impersonating a police officer in the Manso Nkwanta District of the Ashanti Region.
His arrest follows the circulation of a viral video that captured him appearing intoxicated while clad in a full police uniform.
According to a police statement, the suspect was arrested at Antoakrom, a community within the district, after members of the public raised concerns about the video, which showed him behaving erratically while donning the official attire of the Ghana Police Service.
Authorities confirmed that Osei Kwame had no affiliation with the police and had unlawfully acquired and worn the uniform.
His actions have raised serious security and public confidence concerns, as impersonation of law enforcement officers can undermine the integrity of the service and pose threats to public safety.
The police say he is currently in custody and assisting with investigations to determine how he obtained the uniform and whether he has used it to engage in any criminal activities in the past.
