FIFA Opens First Permanent African Regional Office In Morocco

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has opened its first-ever permanent African regional office in Rabat, Morocco, marking a significant milestone in African football history.

This development is seen as a game-changer for the continent’s football, providing technical and administrative support to local federations and promoting football development across Africa.
The agreement to establish the office was finalized on December 17, 2024, between FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Morocco’s Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.

The memorandum includes provisions for supporting and implementing various FIFA development projects in the region.

The office will be housed at the state-of-the-art Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamoura, Rabat, a facility widely regarded as one of the most modern football training centers globally.
