A devastating fire swept through three girls’ dormitories at Labone Senior High School in Accra on Sunday afternoon, leaving significant damage to the facilities.
The blaze, which occurred while students were attending afternoon prep, impacted three out of six dormitories, with one dormitory completely destroyed and two others sustaining partial damage.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out around 1pm, and emergency services, including the Ghana National Fire Service, responded promptly to the scene.

Firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the situation under control, containing the fire by 1:42 pm.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the affected students have been relocated to the assembly hall for temporary accommodation.
The Ghana National Fire Service has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, with preliminary reports suggesting a possible electrical fault.
However, the School authorities have assured parents and guardians that measures are being put in place to protect students and prevent similar incidents in the future.
The school has also appealed for calm and cooperation as they work to resolve the situation.
