The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a change in the reopening date for Single Track Senior High and Technical Schools.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Schools and Instructions Division, Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, the new reopening date is set for April 23, 2025.
This decision affects all Single Track Senior High and Technical Schools across the country.
The GES has instructed Regional Directors of Education to communicate this information to all Heads of Single Track Schools, who are then required to inform parents, guardians, and students of the new reopening date.
The initial reopening date was part of the 2024/2025 academic calendar, which was released earlier by the GES.
The calendar outlined the reopening dates for all second-cycle institutions, including Single Track and Transitional Schools.
For the 2024/2025 academic year, the GES had scheduled the reopening date for Single Track Schools to coincide with the start of the second term for continuing students.
However, with the new reopening date set for April 23, 2025, students and parents will need to adjust their plans accordingly.
The GES has not provided specific reasons for the change in reopening date. However, such changes are typically made to ensure a smooth academic year and to address any logistical challenges that may arise.
