The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has once again showcased its commitment to financial compliance and good governance by successfully completing the FIFA Central Review for the accounting period from January 1 to December 31, 2024.
This achievement marks the sixth consecutive year the Association has passed FIFA’s audit under the current administration, which assumed office in 2019.
The FIFA Central Review is a critical compliance requirement for football associations worldwide.
Conducted by global audit firm EY (Zurich), the review assesses the financial management and governance practices of football associations. Failure to meet the required standards could result in severe consequences, including FIFA sanctions, suspension of funding, project support, and forward programme allocations.
The GFA’s consistent success in these audits demonstrates its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of financial management and governance.
The Audit Process
The recent audit was conducted onsite in March 2025, with the GFA’s Chief Finance Officer, Collins Kwasi Dei, playing a key role in coordinating the process.
The audit firm, EY (Zurich), scrutinized the Association’s financial records, management practices, and governance structures to ensure compliance with FIFA’s regulations.
In addition to the FIFA Central Review, the GFA has also completed its statutory audit for the 2023/2024 season.
International audit firm Baker Tilly Andah + Andah conducted the audit, which covered the period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.
The report has been submitted to FIFA and will be included in the documents for the next GFA Congress, in line with Article 67 of the GFA Statutes.
The GFA is committed to maintaining its high standards of financial compliance and governance.
The Association will next prepare its financial statements for the 2024/2025 period by June 30, 2025, ahead of another statutory audit, which is expected to be completed and submitted to FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) by December 31, 2025.
