Ghanaians Want Job, Money, Not Bundle – Shatta Wale Blasts Mahama

In a scathing criticism, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has lambasted President John Dramani Mahama’s government for allegedly offering a special Independence Day data bundle deal, which he believes is insufficient to address the country’s pressing economic needs.

“This is not what Ghanaians need massa,” Shatta Wale wrote on his Facebook page.

“You think this is what can make you stay in power Abi? You didn’t even say 1000ghc for every Ghanaian and small time you will be planning to buy properties abroad. Next Joke please! Let us be serious in this country. Our people need money money money money oooo tonnn!!!”

Shatta Wale’s outburst was in response to a post by Sam George, the Minister of Communications, Digital and Technology, who announced that Ghana’s three main telecom companies would be offering a special Independence Day data bundle deal.

The bundle provides 6GB of data for GHS 10, an increase over the standard 1GB or 3GB available at the same price.

“The people demanded. H.E. John Dramani Mahama instructed. We have delivered,” Sam George wrote on his Facebook page.

“This is the first step in a number of policy and regulatory actions aimed at a sustainable roadmap to better data offerings and quality service. Independence day dey jom pass under JM!”

However, Shatta Wale’s criticism highlights the deeper economic concerns facing Ghanaians, who are struggling to make ends meet amidst rising inflation and unemployment.

While the data bundle deal may be seen as a welcome gesture by some, others like Shatta Wale believe it is merely a tokenistic measure that fails to address the underlying economic issues.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time Shatta Wale has publicly criticized President Mahama’s government.

In the past, he has called on Ghanaians to apologize to Mahama for treating him unfairly during his presidency.

However, his latest criticism suggests that he is not impressed with the government’s current efforts to address the country’s economic challenges.
