The Ghana Police Service has taken decisive action against gun violence in Accra, arresting 29-year-old Samuel Aryeetey Kortor, who was seen discharging a firearm in a viral video at Jamestown.
This intelligence-led operation, conducted on April 9, 2025, demonstrates the police force’s commitment to tackling crime and ensuring public safety.
Initial investigations have revealed that Kortor is also wanted by the Homicide Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for murder.
The police are working diligently to gather evidence and build a strong case against Kortor.
Firearm Seized
A search of Kortor’s residence at Gbese-Jamestown led to the discovery of a Beretta pistol with Serial No. PX-195994.
This seizure is a significant breakthrough in the investigation, and the police are analyzing the firearm for any potential links to other crimes.
Ongoing Investigation
Kortor is currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation.
The police are working to apprehend any remaining suspects and uncover the full extent of their involvement in the crimes.
