Joshua Alabi’s Daugther Grab Appointment In Mahama Govt

President John Dramani Mahama has named 25-year-old Naomi Borley Alabi as the Acting Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Finance and Administration at the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC).

Naomi Alabi is the daughter of Professor Joshua Alabi, a prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a seasoned administrator.

Naomi’s appointment is further fueling the raging perception of family and friends government.

Her father, Joshua Alabi is the Board chairman of GCB Bank and her mother, Goski Alabi is also serving in a different role in the Mahama administration.

She was received by her boss, Prof Kobby Mensah,the  formerly of University of Ghana Business School.

Naomi Alabi is a qualified lawyer with an impressive educational background.

She completed her LLB program in 2021 at the University of Portsmouth and went on to pursue an LLM and Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law (UK).

She also earned a Post-Call Law Certificate from the Ghana School of Law, which led to her being called to the Ghana Bar.

Before her appointment, Naomi Alabi had accumulated valuable experience in various roles.

She served as the President of Amnesty International at the University of Portsmouth, where she led student campaigns for human rights.

Her professional experience includes serving as the Executive Secretary of the Consumer Advocacy Centre, Board Member of Best Assurance Company Ltd, and Chief Legal Consultant at Moorgate Lane Solicitors.

She is also a lecturer at Accra Metropolitan University, contributing to legal education and professional training.

As Acting Deputy CEO for Finance and Administration at GTDC, Naomi Alabi is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the company’s capacity to mobilize resources effectively for investment in tourist undertakings and services.

GTDC, established in 1972, operates under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and serves as the investment wing of the Ministry.

The company’s core functions include promoting and mobilizing resources for investment in tourist undertakings, seeking equity participation in joint ventures, and providing financial and technical assistance for small businesses in the tourism sector.
