President John Dramani Mahama has bid farewell to three outgoing security service commanders, who were recently relieved of their duties.
The commanders, Isaac Kofi Egyir (Prisons), Julius A. Kuunuor (Fire), and Kwame Asuah Takyi (Immigration), paid a visit to the President at the Jubilee House, where he expressed his gratitude for their dedicated service to Ghana.
“I am grateful to have met with outgoing service commanders… to express my sincere appreciation for their dedicated service to Ghana,” President Mahama said in a post on his Facebook page.
“Thank you for your leadership and commitment!”
The meeting comes on the heels of the recent appointment of new security officers, including Patience Baffoe-Bonnie as the new Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mawusi Ntow-Sapong as the new Chief Fire Officer, and Samuel Basentale Amadu as the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.
The new appointments were made in consultation with the Council of State, according to a statement signed by the Spokesperson to the President and Minister in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
President Mahama’s farewell gesture to the outgoing commanders has been seen as a nod to their years of service to the nation.
