President John Dramani Mahama has successfully recovered his official Twitter account, @JDMahama, after it was allegedly compromised on March 16, 2025.
The hack led to unauthorized promotions of a cryptocurrency scam, Solana Africa, which falsely claimed to be led by the President.
According to John Mahama, the breach was discovered when his account began posting promotional content about Solanafrica.
“Thank you for your inquiries and offers to assist. My team, working with X support, has successfully restored my account,” he stated.
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) had assured the public that it was collaborating with X and other stakeholders to address the issue and prevent future occurrences.
President John Mahama’s team worked closely with X support to regain control of the account.
