Mahama Sacks NEIP Staff

In a shocking move, President John Mahama has effectively suspended all staff of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), a government initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in Ghana.

The suspension, which takes effect on Monday, February 24, 2025, comes amidst unresolved employment and legal issues plaguing the organization.

According to a memo issued by the CEO, Eric Adjei, on February 21, 2025, the decision to suspend staff was necessitated by the complexity and legal implications of the employment issues.

The memo stated that management had been instructed to adhere strictly to due process in regularizing staff employment matters to prevent further legal complications.

The NEIP CEO claimed, the Institution has been grappling with employment and legal issues, which have hindered its ability to operate effectively.

The organization’s reliance on operational funds to pay monthly staff allowances has been compromised, prompting the management to seek alternative solutions.

In the meantime, staff members have been instructed not to report to work until the issues are fully resolved.

However, management reserves the right to call upon specific staff members whose services are required to resume work.

Additionally, all staff in possession of NEIP property are required to hand them over to the HR Officer by close of work on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, to avoid being accused of deliberate stealing.
