Mark-Oliver Kevor Takes NITA Top Job

In a strategic move to propel Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, Dr. Mark-Oliver Kevor, a renowned tech expert and Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been appointed the new Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA).

As a seasoned academic with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Kevor brings a wealth of knowledge in Knowledge Management Systems, ICT, SME studies, Telecommunications, and Information Security to the table.

His credentials, including a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Ghana, make him the ideal candidate to drive NITA’s restructuring agenda and deliver on its core mandate.

Dr. Kevor’s appointment is seen as a deliberate effort by President John Mahama to bolster Ghana’s digital transformation efforts.

As the new Director-General of NITA, Kevor is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing ICT governance, expanding digital infrastructure, and ensuring robust cybersecurity frameworks to support Ghana’s growing digital economy.

On Wednesday, Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, formally introduced Dr. Kevor to the management and staff of NITA, urging them to accord him their full support.

Dr. Kevor’s leadership is poised to transform NITA, driving Ghana’s digital agenda forward and positioning the country as a leader in the digital economy.

With Kevor at the helm, NITA is expected to experience a significant transformation, driving innovation and growth in Ghana’s tech sector.
