The Asawase Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended four of its branch executives for alleged anti-party conduct.
They are Mutala Mohammed, Branch Youth Organiser (Mallam Kataki), Farida Mohammed, Branch Women’s Organiser (Mallam Ladan), Aminu Issah, Branch Communications Officer (Methodist Home Science JHS), Mohammed Salisu Sanusi, Branch Communications Officer (Methodist JHS).
A suspension letter issued to the individuals indicated that the Constituency Executive Committee took the decision following acts of misconduct by the officers.
Signed by the Constituency Secretary, Mugis Mahdi, and copied to the Member of Parliament and the Regional Chairman, the letter instructed the suspended members to refrain from participating in any party-related activity until the Disciplinary Committee makes a final determination on their cases.
Sources within the party told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the suspensions were linked to disparaging remarks allegedly made by the executives against the President, following the nomination of Ben Abdallah Alhassan as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokore Mampong.
