Ransford Gyampo Lives Big At Shippers Authority; Grabs New V8

Prof. Ransford Gyampo, Managing Director of the Ghana Shippers Authority, has been at the center of controversy after allegedly sacking over 30 workers, appointed by the previous government, just weeks into his tenure.

To add fuel to the fire, Gyampo who rode on the back of UTAG to secure a political appointment, is set to receive a brand-new Land Cruiser V8 for his office.

He had complained that the vehicles bequeathed to him by his predecessor were unfit for his office.

Ransford Gyampo’s actions have sparked outrage, with many questioning the rationale behind accepting a new vehicle purchased under the previous government while sacking workers appointed during the same period.

The Gyampo currently has access to three vehicles: a 2022 Nissan Patrol, a 2022 VW Passat, and a 2018 Land Cruiser.

Amidst the criticism, Ransford Gyampo has fired back at his detractors, particularly the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in a series of Facebook posts.

“Folks, I have seen a desperate attempt by the NPP foot soldiers to wage concerted attacks on me using lies and propaganda,” Gyampo wrote.

“Please ignore the lies. I won’t do anything untoward. I remain focused. But I’ll fix them ALL THE TIME!”

He further denied allegations of purchasing a massaging chair for his office, forcing the purchase of a new Land Cruiser, or sacking 30 workers hired between 2017 and 2023.

“Ignore these unintelligent lies. We remain focused!” he emphasized.

The former University of Ghana lecturer also took a swipe at the NPP’s propaganda tactics, comparing them unfavorably to those of Fiifi Kwetey, former NDC Propaganda Secretary.

“When Fiifi Kwetey was the NDC Propaganda Sec, he set the records straight with intelligence such that it was difficult not to listen to him. The kind of propaganda being done by the NPP today only betrays the level of their intelligence,” Gyampo observed.
