A controversy has erupted following allegations by DJ Lord OTB that Stonebwoy’s management ordered him to stop playing Shatta Wale’s songs during his set at the Accravaganza programme.
However, Stonebwoy’s camp has vehemently denied these claims, sparking a heated debate in the Ghanaian music industry.
According to DJ Lord OTB, he was instructed by a top Board official of the show to cease playing Shatta Wale’s music immediately, allegedly at the behest of Stonebwoy’s management.
However, Joojo, DJ Lord’s manager, has clarified that the message was relayed to them by a Guinness Ghana official, not directly by Stonebwoy’s management.
Joojo explained that they played two Shatta Wale songs back-to-back before receiving a message from the Guinness official, expressing Stonebwoy’s management dissatisfaction with the back-to-back play of Shatta Wale songs.
However, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, the Head of Communications at Burniton Music Group, has denied these claims, stating that Stonebwoy’s camp did not order DJ Lord to stop playing Shatta Wale’s songs either directly or through any Guinness official.
The controversy has sparked a heated debate in the Ghanaian music industry, with many fans and pundits weighing in on the issue.
While some have criticized Stonebwoy’s management for allegedly trying to suppress Shatta Wale’s music, others have defended them, arguing that the allegations are unfounded and mischievous.
The Accravaganza programme, which was held on March 29, featured performances by Stonebwoy, AratheJay, and other top Ghanaian artists.
The event was sponsored by Guinness Ghana, and it is unclear why the company’s official would have relayed a message to DJ Lord OTB allegedly from Stonebwoy’s management.
