A somber mood has settled over the Old Achimotan Association (OAA) ’24 community following the tragic loss of two of its members, Davida Asante Boateng and Lilian Akorli, in a horrific accident on the Achimota Highway.
The incident occurred on March 7, 2025, while the two were returning to the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) after attending the Annual Bonfire Celebration at Achimota School, their alma mater.
Eyewitnesses report that the accident happened around 11:30 pm when Davida and Lilian were crossing the highway.
A black Toyota Corolla knocked them down, and the driver fled the scene without stopping.
Good Samaritans rushed the injured duo to the hospital around 12:02 am, but sadly, Davida was pronounced dead at 4:00 am on March 8, 2025.
Lilian fought bravely for her life but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries earlier the same morning.
The Old Achimotan Association (OAA) ’24 has expressed its deepest condolences to the families of Davida and Lilian.
In a statement signed by President Brainard Apraku and General Secretary Wendy NaaKi Tetteh, the association vowed to provide support to the families and find ways to honour the memory of the deceased members.

The OAA ’24 community is still reeling from the shock of the tragedy, and members have taken to social media to pay tribute to their fallen colleagues.
The association has promised to keep its members updated on any further information regarding the accident and other related matters.
