In a heartfelt message to the Muslim community, Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, extended her Eid Mubarak greetings despite being confined to her sick bed.
Her warm wishes, expressed through a statement, reflected her deep respect for the Muslim community’s contributions to the nation, even as she faces personal health challenges.
Interestingly, the Vice-President who is currently receiving a treatment outside the country in a statement said “Eid Mubarak to our Muslim community! On this blessed occasion, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your families,”
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang offered her sincere congratulations to Muslims celebrating Eid al-Fitr, a festival marking the end of Ramadan.
Acknowledging the significant role of the Muslim community in Ghana, she continued, “Your dedication, values, and contributions enrich our nation and the world. May this celebration bring you joy, peace, and renewed strength.”
These words not only expressed her gratitude but also underscored her recognition of the Muslim community’s dedication and positive influence on society, particularly in fostering unity and progress.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s message comes amidst ongoing recovery from an undisclosed illness, which has kept her from attending the public events.
Despite being physically unwell, her message emphasized a sense of community and solidarity that transcended her personal health struggle.
She further expressed her appreciation for the support she had received from the public, especially over the weekend.
“Likewise, I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend,” she said, reflecting gratitude for the outpouring of care from the Ghanaian people during this time.
The Vice-President, as reported, was flown out of the country over the weekend to an an undisclosed hospital in Abroad for medical treatment.
