A bizarre and disturbing incident has unfolded in the Assin Foso Municipality of the Central Region, where a 43-year-old woman, Esi Affumwaa, has been arrested for allegedly biting a customer’s testicles during a violent altercation over a paltry 20 pesewas debt.

According to eyewitnesses, the dispute began on Wednesday evening at Affumwaa’s drinking spot in Assin Wurakese Camp, where 36-year-old farmer Osman had purchased a cigarette for GH₵1.20. Osman had paid GH₵1 initially, promising to settle the remaining 20 pesewas later.

The next day, Osman returned to the drinking spot, intending to buy another cigarette and settle his outstanding balance.

He handed GH₵5 to Affumwaa, assuming the debt would be deducted.

However, when he later attempted to make another purchase, Affumwaa confronted him, demanding the 20 pesewas, which led to a heated argument.

Osman narrated that the argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation, with Affumwaa striking him on the head with a stick, causing him to fall to the ground.

“She, with the help of her children, pounced on me, beating me mercilessly before biting my testicles,” Osman recounted.

The victim alleged that he began bleeding profusely and screamed for help until bystanders rushed him to the hospital.

The Assin Foso District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jacob Kumedzro, confirmed the incident, stating that investigations were ongoing.

Meanwhile, Osman has since been discharged from the hospital, but the incident has left him shaken.

The police have arrested Affumwaa and are holding her in custody as they continue to investigate the matter.
