Your Duty Is To Fix It, Not To Lament- Afenyo-Markin Tells Mahama

The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has taken President John Mahama to task over his State of the Nation Address, saying that the president must fix the country’s problems, not lament about them.

Afenyo-Markin made the remarks while seconding the adjournment of the House on Thursday.

He stated that President Mahama’s address was characterized by lamentations and excuses, rather than concrete solutions to the country’s challenges.

“You must fix the concerns you have and not lament about them,” Afenyo-Markin said, addressing President Mahama.

“We are tired of hearing excuses and lamentations. We want to see action and results.”

Afenyo-Markin also criticized President Mahama’s handling of the economy, saying that the president had failed to acknowledge the progress made in the last eight years.

He noted that President Mahama had inherited a peaceful and stable economy, but had failed to build on that foundation.

The Minority Leader also questioned President Mahama’s ‘nkoko nkitinkiti’ initiative, which aims to promote agriculture and reduce unemployment.

He expressed skepticism about the initiative, saying that it was unclear how it would achieve its goals.

Afenyo-Markin concluded by calling on President Mahama to take concrete action to address the country’s challenges.

“We want to see a clear plan of action, not just words and promises,” he said. “The Ghanaian people are tired of waiting for results. It’s time for action.”
